Lei Sun is a Senior Staff Engineer and Technical Lead Manager on Uber’s Engineering Security team. He leads multiple initiatives including AI Guard, Uber’s centralized platform for securing LLMs, agents, AI applications, and DataK9, a GenAI-powered solution that auto-classifies data at the field level across Uber’s storage systems. His team builds reliable, cost-efficient privacy and safety infrastructure that enables product teams to integrate security, compliance, and privacy by default. Previously, Lei worked at Amazon and Microsoft, and he has 18+ years of industry experience.
